From the very beginning of the psychoanalytic history, resistance has been treated as a very important concept and the technical issue both theoretically and clinically. In this introductory paper, I was trying ot convey the basic concept of resistance and the clinical usuage of it even in other treatment setting than in psychoanalysis. Definition, methods, and theoretical background, of resistance, and the techique of analyzing resistance were discussed in order. Finally a clinical case was illustrated in order for better understanding of the concept.
